The summer that was, we're still holding on!

At the Adelaide and South Australia blog, we encourage folks to tell their own version of Adelaide and South Australia in the Your SA series.

@afirel sends this photo in of Glenelg Beach.  A ray of light beams through the clouds.  We miss summer, don't we?

@Chris_tamits sent in this beauty from Glenelg. You can see the thing to do is stroll down the Glenelg Jetty!

Glenelg Art Gallery Exhibit - Laura Howell

Our first request to showcase something South Australian.  As suggested via Adelaide_SA Twitter, by Laura Howell, here is a great art exhibition that is currently underway:



Laura Howell- Paintings of surrealism, portraiture and abstraction.

Exhibition dates 18th February - 13th March 2011
11am - 5pm 7 days a week
Opening Sunday 20th February 2pm- 4pm

Laura Howell is an Australian artist who has been painting and drawing most of her life. She exhibited skills early on in her childhood, some of her first works were sketches of the landscape in the gorgeous Yorke Peninsula. Growing up in Adelaide, South Australia she decided to become a Professional Artist since completing high school.


Laura Howell completed a bachelor of Visual Arts in 2008, specialising in painting and minoring in photography. During her time at art school Laura found a deep love of the painting styles of abstraction and surrealism. Laura Howell currently resides in Adelaide with her partner and their 2 young children.
