There is room for 300 stalls at the expo, with tarot readers, palmistry experts, crystal ball readers, ghost whispers and the slightly odd face readers. Odd because most people can read faces, I'm sure, so that seems quite intruiging.<br /><br />What I have always been concerned with the expo though, and what I am sure is a running joke in South Australia, is why do the psychic's bother with events such as these? They should be raking in the dollars with their psychic powers! If they were psychic, why are they not giving out the lottery numbers to charities, or point on a map where Black Beard's long lost treasure is? This may be worthwhile to challenge a Psychic, to guess how many coins riside in your wallet, that if they guess it, they are pshychic! Then demand to know where Black Beard's booty is.. A-HARR!<br /><br />But I am certain I am missing the point about this expo. It's more about learning a culture and a way of life. It is to learn of goods such as health products and lotions. You'll know it when you see it. It is the St Peter's Cathedral. Look across the road and you'll see the Cathedral Hotel. Here is a nice starting point.<br /><br />From here, take a walk north towards the next pub. Repeat this step after a few drinks at each hotel. After your legs can no longer walk you to the next pub north, walk towards the nearest cab to take you home.<br /><br /><h2>North Adelaide Restaurants</h2><br />There is fine dining located in numerous locations. You pretty much cannot go wrong, with restaurants of several different types from Aussie food to Indian.<br /><br />North Adelaide is known for its posh nights out with any restaurant located down O'Connell St a great place for a romantic night out or a family feast. You can even trot towards the end of the main street for an ice cream after dinner.<br /><br /><h2>North Adelaide Movies</h2><br />Haven't seen a movie for while out on the big screen? Well, after your dinner, why not catch a flick at the Wallis North Adelaide Cinema?<br /><br />They play all the latest that the kids are into these days, as well as all the blockbusters. So much that we are certain to receive annoyed soccer fans leaving comments saying "<i>It's called Football, not Soccer</i>".<br /><br />But recently in the news, it seems that Football/Soccer is set to return to the Adelaide Oval. Now, we're not talking about A-League, we are talking about the Socceroos returning to Adelaide, an event that hasn't occurred for over 50 years.<br /><br />Apparently, the last time the Australian National side was at the Oval was in 1958 against England's Blackpool.<br /><br />Adelaide looks set to hold a friendly in June this year against Serbia. Nothing has been set in stone just yet, but Melbourne is out of the picture with clashes of games with other football codes.<br /><br />This is going to be fantastic. If you live in Adelaide, mark yourself as busy in June so you don't miss this opportunity to see a rare event.<br /><br />We think it's going to be great, playing Soccer at one of the world's most beautiful sporting stadiums.<br /><br />Hindmarsh Stadium is still always going to be the home of Soccer/Football in Adelaide. The day is a fun filled family event for the Far North.<br /><br />The Gymkhana events look exciting to watch. They are an opportunity for horse and rider to show the skills they need to have and use in everyday station life.<br /><br />Bronco branding is a uniquely Australian way of catching and branding cattle. Riders show how it is done, a journey of times past. Tickets are selling fast.<br /><br />It's a jam packed weekend at Adelaide Oval with people dressing up in costumes, meat pies sold by the bucket loads, massive amounts of beer consumed and a few matches of rugby played.<br /><br />So, there are sixteen nations playing with seven players on either side of the field at one time. You have the home town favourites Australia, those nasty poms England, our rivals across the ditch New Zealand and crowd favourites Kenya, just to name a few.<br /><br />Saturday sees all the teams battling it out for rankings. Sunday sees nation against nation again playing against each other based on those rankings, vying for either a Shield, Bowl, Plate or Cup.<br /><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;"><br /></div><div style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none;">It is a great day for everyone, kids, adults, families. Wondered what is going on?<br /><br />Thought it was leftovers from the recent fringe? Perhaps they could've fallen off the back of one of their trucks! <br /><br />Well, not quite. Here is one of them on North Tce in front of the Art Gallery. Luke has taken this idea around the world and brought it here in South Australia as part of the <a href="http://www.comeout.on.net/">Come Out Festival</a> which is running 25th of March to 1st of April.<br /><br />The idea is to celebrate art in two different methods, both visually and musically. They are to connect people together through art and music, connecting friends, family and strangers on the street.<br /><br />More than 30 pianos will be delivered to the Adelaide streets, metro areas and some regional communities. Each piano is adorned with "Play me, I'm Yours".<br /><br />So, what we thought you can do this weekend is to find as many of these pianos as you can and take a picture with it. Send it in via twitter or <a href="mailto:tork.southaust@gmail.com">tork.southaust@gmail.com</a> and we'll upload the best ones.<br /><br />Don't forget, when you find a piano, you've got to bash out a few tunes too. I previously received a complimentary Trackside ticket during the week to see the <a href="http://www.clipsal500.com.au/">Clipsal race</a> for this day.<br /><br />Now, never being a big fan of the V8s and never watching very much on the telly, I was actually excited to just see what all the fuss was about. Being more of an F1 racing fan, I figured I'd give it a go, seeing as I should help out good ol' Adelaide events with my feet (and beer money). I enjoy racing, but never actually seen a live racing event! How very sad.<br /><br />So, I've only got a two hour time frame for the event (unfortunately had other engagements that day). Im there, standing in a fairly long line to get in at Gate 3. A faint waft of cigarettes, B.O. and bourbon floats through the air. Yes! Thats the spirit!<br /><br />I get to the first corner for an early race that has just started. Not sure which race it was, but it was close to 11.30am, so perhaps someone could fill me in. Anyway, at the corner near Gate 5. Got my camera ready to take a shot at the point where the petrol machines accelerate down the straight. They sweep around the corner, I hit <i>click</i> on my camera and ..WHOOSH!..<br /><br />F***!!!<br /><br />Oops sorry kiddies, that was my whole body freaking out at the power this beasties have when they accelerated down the stretch. I thought I was going to die! I had no idea how AWESOME a fast car's power would be simply standing behind a barrier watching it. So, points definitely get given to the cars. Fantastic.<br /><br />Ok, so I have a map of the track and decide I want to walk around it as much as I can. Here is where I get pissed off. I want to get to the next corner, but everything is barricaded off. I ask gate staff what is the best way to go to get to this corner (whilst pointing to it on the map). They said "<i>Oh, you have to leave and go around to the next gate and get back in</i>". Ok, so I got stamped and left.<br /><br />What felt like ten minutes later, on a sunny day without even having a beer in my hand, I walked around the outside without being able to see any of the only race I could have seen in my two hours. After finally getting the gate, I found I couldn't even get to the corner I wanted. I pretty much walked past it to get to the next gate. Gate security fail.<br /><br />Anyway, got back in, lost 5 kilos off the waist from the walk (can't complain about that) and decided to head towards a bridge everyone seemed to be going towards. Ok, good idea, lets do that. Waited five minutes in line to just get onto this bridge. Took what felt like another five minutes to get to the other side of the bridge. Got there to be told "<i>Sorry, you can't go any further on a Trackside pass</i>". So you think there was any other direction I could have gone from there? No, back on the bridge to whence I came!<br /><br />Man, what a nightmare. This event might be all right if they got their shit together. I've spent a good part of my day wasted and I'd so been looking forward to this event. Now I just wanted to go home, after a beer first of course! Anyway, I knew there were some XXXX Angels somewhere nearby, so I went and watched their performance. Ahhh, thanks girls, much better. Even gave me some souveniers.<br /><br />Well, I dont really want to bag an Adelaide event, but overall I would have to say that it was a big let down. From my perspective, it was unorganised for your general admission spectators. You'd have to go to the event at least once or twice to figure out how it's best to get around. I guess it's like most events, but I'd be more pissed if I actually paid for my ticket. It is disappointing that two event staff members weren't sufficiently trained and had let down one useless person like me, where they should have said "<i>turn around and use that bridge behind you</i>", which I found out later in the day. Perhaps it would have worked better in my favour if I said "<i>I'm probably reviewing this event on a blog</i>", but that would have ruined my lovely experience.<br /><br />What brings Clipsal up though are these awesome machines that run around the tracks, the gorgeous grid girls (and you lovely <a href="http://www.xxxxangels.com.au/">XXXX angels</a>) and the passion of the V8 fans. I loved seeing so many people supporting the event, even if it is designed like a rat maze with the prize cheese sitting somewhere in Brazil.<br /><br />Here are some happy snaps of the day, hopefully I get a chance again next year to go again. Should be a fun ride!"</i><br /><br />Adelaide's trams have had extensive work completed on them.<br /><br />The beautiful, but rickety, old trams have been replaced with a more modern version.<br /><br />Haven't been on them yet? Why not give them a go? See if you think they are better than the originals!<br /><br />Why not catch a tram to Glenelg for the day? Soak in some rays, take a swim, walk along the Glenelg Jetty and then jump back on the Tram to whence you came.<br /><br />Give it a go! She exhibited skills early on in her childhood, some of her first works were sketches of the landscape in the gorgeous Yorke Peninsula. Growing up in Adelaide, South Australia she decided to become a Professional Artist since completing high school.<br /><br /><br />Laura Howell completed a bachelor of Visual Arts in 2008, specialising in painting and minoring in photography. During her time at art school Laura found a deep love of the painting styles of abstraction and surrealism.
